Khwai Bush Camp

Lodge style Family friendly safari retreat

A classic African bush camp

Khwai Bush Camp is built on the banks of the Khwai River, in the Tsaro Concession, nestled amongst a forest of sycamore and leadwood trees. The camp offers spectacular views towards the untocuhed wilderness of the famous Moremi Game Reserve. Preserving the romance of yester-year, Khwai Bush Camp has a simple harmony with nature and blends seamlessly into the surrounding setting, with minimal impact on the environment. Open year-round, Khwai Bush Camp combines excellent wildlife viewing with a sustainable, community-centred approach. The Khwai area comprises varied ecosystems that invite exploration: enchanted forests, grasslands, lush floodplains and lagoons, with consistent year-round wildlife encounters.

Thatched and spacious, the accommodation consists of four standard and two family chalets, with private en-suite bathrooms and views over the water and on into the Moremi. Fans are fitted in each guest chalet as well as battery-charging facilities. Also the main lodge area has charging points for your convenience. Enjoy a lazy afternoon at the sparkling poolside drinking in the serene floodplain surrounds.

Activities at Khwai Bush Camp

Enjoy day and night game drives and guided walks, seasonal mokoro excursions (water level dependant), and cultural tours of the local village. This is your chance to encounter some of the most iconic wildlife species – cheetah, leopard, lion, wild dog, elephant, buffalo, hippo and giraffe. A visit to the neighbouring Khwai village is a true cultural highlight. All activities are led by highly qualified and passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you. Kindly note that children under 16 years old are not permitted on walks or mokoros.

Tripadvisor comments Khwai Bush Camp

Wow Africa Bushcamps you really swept us off our feet with this last stop. It really felt like every detail was thought out - from a floor towel in front of wash basins to magazines in the rooms and constantly surprising us with special flourishes that felt like nothing was too much trouble I slept so well and the wifi in the front lobby was so appreciated. Kaytee was the perfect host and conversationalist. Kaytee runs the perfect ship! Best host hands down over the 3 camps we stayed at. Our guide DT was so considerate - he drove through a downpour - completely soaked and when the rain cleared - still wanted to stop for gun&tonics and hotchocolate for the kids - now if that’s not earnest service I don’t know what is (!)

I just had a wonderful holiday at Khwai Bush Camp filled with many incredible animals thanks to our guides. They were able to anticipate the animal's behavior so we were able to get incredible photos of our animals. We were able to see incredibly rare wildlife. including sitatunga, Roan antelope, pangolin, elephant, leopards, hippo and many more. DT, Dutch, and Kaytee were all incredible staff. They were genuine and made our stay wonderful. I would 100% stay again. It was 100% worth it.
